We asked Gabriel Crouch, conductor of English vocal ensemble, Gallicantus, whose performance of Sarah Kirkland Snider’s “riveting” (Wall Street JournalMass for the Endangered was “expressively interpreted” (New Yorker) about releasing music during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“As a singer raised on the very old, but nowadays increasingly enthralled by very new, it has been one of the great joys of this year to collaborate with New Amsterdam Records. Aside from an enormous catalog of consistently brilliant recordings, it is the mutual support and palpable artist ownership within the community that makes it feel so special, and which makes NewAm a crucible for a sense of adventure which points a hopeful way forward for our art, and which promises to draw new audiences and excite the imaginations of new creators.”
