OUT NOW: Composer Jacob Cooper's Terrain

"a maverick electronic song composer"
-The New Yorker

"richly talented"
-The New York Times

Drenched in otherworldly vocals performed by Theo Bleckmann and Jodie Landau, exquisite processed cello from Ashley Bathgate, with elaborate electronic orchestrations produced by Cooper, these three expansive tracks brim with intricately pulsing soundscapes that lull us into a tranquil meditative state. Terrain transports us to a new dimension where time slows down as we bask in the soft, pale glow of infinite timbral layers. Available via BandcampApple Music and Spotify.

Announcing Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Mass for the Endangered, a co-release with Nonesuch Records

Watch the video for “Sanctus/Benedictus” from Sarah Kirkland Snider's forthcoming Mass for the Endangered, made by Deborah Johnson/CandyStations.

Composer Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Mass for the Endangered, the fourth record in a partnership between New Amsterdam and Nonesuch Records, will be released on September 25. Snider’s Mass, with a libretto by poet/writer Nathaniel Bellows, is a celebration of, and an elegy for, the natural world—animals, plants, insects, the planet itself—an appeal for greater awareness, urgency, and action. Originally commissioned by Trinity Church Wall Street, this recording features the English vocal ensemble Gallicantus conducted by Gabriel Crouch.

The six-movement Mass for the Endangered is a rumination on the concept of the traditional Catholic Mass, its fidelity enhanced by Snider’s interpolation of traditional Latin text for the GloriaSanctus/Benedictus, and parts of the KyrieCredo, and Agnus Dei. pre-order the cd or digital album and pre-save at Spotify today.
