"In Appalachian folk song, Darling Corey is a banjo man. But he’s also a moonshiner and a gambler. In other words, he’s a no-good loser, a cad, a rounder. And he’s part of the new collection called Rounder Songs by folk singer Emily Pinkerton and contemporary classical composer Patrick Burke. They recast old folk songs in modern settings that feature the New York-based new music group called NOW Ensemble. Emily Pinkerton, Patrick Burke, the band called NOW Ensemble, and guests are playing the collection known as Rounder Songs tomorrow night, 11/30 at National Sawdust in Brooklyn."
