ELIA REDIGER is a Swiss artist, singer, composer, director, and producer born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Rediger has been described as a multidisciplinary “enfant terrible” who often appears as a “strange figure“ in his own work. He is considered a strong advocate of art that approaches society with surreal self-reflection via various formats (film, music, sitcom, documentary, radio, TV, Youtube, live stream). His work encounters multilayered perspectives of its own process and often ends in a borderline experience between concert, film, TV-Show, opera, live-action, and pop performances. His latest works include the Congolesian mining oratorio “Hercule de Lubumbashi” (Mokha, Rediger (2018), the singspiel "Das Resort" (Halter, Rediger). He tours as frontman and singer of the 18-piece political big band Brigade Futur 3, hosts the late-night format "Aus dem Hinterhalt" at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, learns chess, and writes pop records with various artists.
